Call for Free Papers – Oral Presentation Format

The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Central America Oral and Maxillofacial Meeting IAOMS/ALACIBU, El Salvador 2026 invites oral and maxillofacial surgeons to participate in the free papers category in oral presentation format.


General Guidelines

1. Participants

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are invited to participate in the oral presentation category, with the aim of promoting scientific research, clinical analysis, and academic exchange within the specialty.

2. Categories

Submissions must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Clinical research
  • Experimental research
  • Case report
  • Case series

3. Registration

Participants must register on the event’s official website. Once registration is completed, a confirmation email will be sent.

4. Submission of Presentation Application

Applicants must submit a presentation request including a title and abstract. The work must be of general interest, comply with the established guidelines, be original and unpublished, not previously presented at any scientific event, and not under review for publication at the time of submission.

  • Language: Spanish
  • Length: 300–350 words
  • Format: Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Arial 12, 1.5 line spacing
  • Restrictions: No tables, graphs, or images; no identifiable patient data

5. Abstract Format and Structure

A) For clinical or experimental research:

  • Introduction
  • Objective
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Keywords (3–5)

B) For case reports or case series:

  • Introduction
  • Case Presentation
  • Clinical Management
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

C) Each submission must include:

  • Title of the work
  • Full names of the authors
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Email of the corresponding author

6. Registration Deadline

The deadline for registration is July 5 at 23:59 (El Salvador time). Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. This timeframe allows the Scientific Committee to evaluate submissions appropriately.

Abstracts must be submitted through the platform available on the congress website.

7. Evaluation

Evaluation will be the main criterion for acceptance or rejection of submissions.

8. Event Registration

The presenter must be properly registered and have paid the registration fee for the 2nd Central America Oral and Maxillofacial Meeting IAOMS/ALACIBU 2026, without exception.

9. Acceptance Notification

All submissions will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified via the registered email whether their paper has been accepted.

Participants are advised to provide a valid email address and phone number and to check inbox, spam, or junk folders.

10. General Guidelines for Oral Presentation

  • Presentation time: 8–10 minutes
  • Q&A session: 3–5 minutes
  • Format: PowerPoint (16:9)
  • Recommended slides: 12–15
  • Include an initial slide with title, authors, and institution
  • Include a conflict of interest statement
  • Indicate Ethics Committee approval when applicable
  • The presentation must be submitted to the Technical Committee at least 2 hours before the scheduled session

11. Final Evaluation

All presentations will be evaluated by a judging panel. At the end of the sessions, the jury will deliberate to determine the results according to each category.

12. Evaluation Criteria

Presentations will be assessed by the Scientific Committee based on:

  • Originality and scientific contribution
  • Clinical relevance
  • Methodological rigor
  • Clarity and coherence
  • Compliance with ethical standards

13. Ethical Considerations

  • All work involving patients must have informed consent
  • Clinical research must have Ethics Committee approval
  • Identifiable images are not allowed without written authorization
  • Any funding or sponsorship must be disclosed

14. Awards

The jury will select the first, second, and third place winners. The results will be announced during the closing ceremony, where awards will be presented.
